Hi, I’m Victoria.

 Institute Of Belonging - PoetikaInstagramEmail

I’m a freelance consultant celebrating the systemic and generative power of networks, communities and ecosystems. I research, advise and speak on the relationship between community and belonging. I’m particularly interested in the radical transformation of our connection to work. I previously hosted an award-winning podcast on the topic - The Work We Do

“Eventually everything connects - people, ideas, objects. The quality of the connections is the key to quality per se.” - Charles Eames

This idea of the quality of the connection plays a central role in my practice. Whether it’s developing global community programmes for kyu, designing new business models for IKEA, or curating for the V&A, my approach to building products, programmes and experiences is always community-first.

You can find out more about my work and world on my Substack, The Institute of Belonging.

Work

In my day-to-day, I develop systemic strategies that incorporate products, programmes and partnerships. Previously, I led Global Ecosystem Partnerships for Facebook’s pioneering Communities team where I built programmes for community leaders at scale (accelerators, fellowships and m0re). Some of you might know me from global event series CreativeMornings, which I ran in London for seven years. Anf if poetry is your thing, I occasionally host an immersive poetry event called Poetika

Clients

Clients include kyuMeta, LinkedIn, The Future LaboratoryIKEA, Adidas, Virgin, BBC, Impossible, EDFEY, Microsoft Ventures, Hyper Island and more.

Communities, awards & giving back

Working with communities as my raw material, I’m lucky to have been in the orbit of extraordinary and visionary networks. Previously, I have been an On Being and RSA Fellow. Currently, I’m a Zinc Fellow and a Point People and Sandbox member - communities which support and nourish me daily.

I like to give back whenever possible. I mentor and advise frequently and I’m a visiting Networks & Future of Work lecturer at the University of the Arts, London and Parsons School of Design, NYC.
A big believer in celebration and joy as a force for good, I regularly judge industry awards and competitions including the Lovie and Webby awards. I'm also a venture & talent scout at BACKED VC and curator at House of Beautiful Business.

Connecting the dots

I love making introductions, hosting dinners and generally, bringing my people together. I believe in a world where everyone has access to robust support systems, meaningful communities, and a deep sense of belonging.
